Register Now: London PMO Conference 2017

There’s an amazing professional development opportunity brewing in the United Kingdom for PMO leaders. The city’s annual PMO Conference will be held again this year on June 7th etc.venues at St Paul’s in Central London.

I attended last year and was completely blown away. This conference provides project management leaders with access to the latest in case studies, research, and methodology developments from across the UK, Europe, Canada, and the US. The caliber of speakers, subjects, and sessions is amazing. Let’s just drop a few names from last year’s speaker lineup:

  • Chris Garibaldi – PPM Practice Lead for Deloitte Technology Strategy, United States
  • Monique Aubry – Professor and PMO Researcher, School of Management Sciences, University of Quebec at Montreal, Canada
  • Henny Portman – Partner of Hedeman Consulting, Netherlands, and author, reviewer, speaker, coach and trainer of more traditional project management (MoP, MSP, PRINCE2, P3O) as well as agile approaches like AgilePM, PRINCE2 Agile and SAFe
  • Stephen Carver – Senior Lecturer in Project & Programme Management, Cranfield University, United Kingdom

The conference organizer, Lindsay Scott, is a personal acquaintance of mine. She’s the founder and director of a PM recruitment firm in the UK called Arras People. Here’s what she told me about what motivates her to organize the yearly PMO Conference:

“What’s important to me is trying to understand different types of PMO regardless of where they are in the world. For me, it’s about getting that spark. There’s something that just resonates with you. I hope that people are going to walk away from this today feeling more invigorated about what it is they’re doing in PMO, because it can be a lonely place. Just to know that you’re on the right path, or that, actually, somebody else is doing slightly different. You’re not going to be able to do exactly what they’re doing because we know that PMOs are unique in every different kind of organization, but you all take a little something, and that’s what we hope that people will walk away with.”
